The structural steel bridge is set on limestone block abutments which had deteriorated at the bridge seats requiring replacement of the upper abutment and bridge seats. |

After the removal of the superstructure, the existing abutments and bridge seats were removed to predefined limits to allow for the installation of the new precast bridge seats. |

New precast concrete bridge seats were set in place, pinned and grouted into the existing limestone abutment, and the superstructure reset, leveled and anchored. |
